I live in a small village deep in the heart of Aberdeenshire. My workshop is a shed at the bottom of the garden. The pics show the shed through its door. Its equiped with basic machines such as bench press drill, band saw and sanding disc and belt, also grinding and sharpening machines. Its a cosy little workshop fully lined and insulated doesn’t take long to heat up. Its enough to do the instrument making and small projects. I have access to a larger workshop for more serious projects. I also have a work room in the house for gluing up, fine work and instrument repairs. The shed is mainly for serious dusty wood cutting and carving. The other pics are of the surrounding areas where we regularly walk our dog. The snow scene shows our house The small cottage on the right. Our cottage has extensions out the back one which we built and the other which we renovated. The original cottages were built around about 1880 when the village population exploded with the opening of the granite quarry.

H Dave,

Is there any chance we could get some pictures of your shop?

Hey Dave,
My son, now 17, was in Scotland this last summer for the Scout Jamborette at Blair Athol (spelling?).

He came home saying he wanted to move there. He had a great time. Said people were all friendly and the landscape was beautiful.

Thanks for the comment Roger.
Mostly we are friendly and usually very proud to show off our beautiful country. Good to see that Blair Athol is still hosting scout jamborees. I used to be a scout many years ago.
