Just finished this one for a customer. The stopper is just over 3 inches tall. The silicone cork is recessed into the bottom about 3/4 inch so the silicone is not visible when placed on a bottle. Carved from basswood with acrylic paints.
Fuzzy was carved from a basswood roughout designed by Phil & Vickie Bishop. He was painted with acrylic paints and finished with a satin lacquer sealer. Fuzzy is about 5" tall and was carved using a wood carving knife and some palm gouges.
Chubby was carved from a basswood roughout designed by Phil & Vickie Bishop. He was painted with acrylic paints and finished with a satin lacquer sealer. Chubby is about 4" tall and was carved using a wood carving knife and some palm gouges.

I made this in my shop from 20# high-density urethane. It cuts and machines perfectly using common woodworking equipment. Rabbet joints are glued with Go2Glue and are solid and strong. The bottom is 3/16" baltic Birch plywood.
Finish base coat is Rustoleum 2X Ultra Cover...
This is one of the first items that I carved. I had some help from my teacher. When I goofed he would come in and make it right and show me what I did wrong. He is a great teacher. I have been wood carving for about six months. I go to class each Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
