  1. 1776 Barrel Table

Here's another whiskey barrel table I made. The flag is hand carved and it's an insert that drops into the table. It sticks out and above to give it a different look. The top surround is made with some quartersawn white oak to give it character, and the one side really pops and stands out...
  2. Barrel Dog Food Stand

Sometimes your own dogs want cool stuff too. ;) They only drank out of one bowl, and had two stands next to each other, so I solved that problem by having one big bowl and two others side by side. Made from whiskey barrel staves and a ton of screws underneath to attach them and for the supports.
  3. Adirondack Rocking Chair

Made from 100 percent whiskey barrel wood. With no plans to go by and after looking at hundreds of online pics it was harder than I thought it would be. All the curved, arched and twisted wood made for a difficult time but in the end it came out good.
  4. Whiskey barrel head clocks

Here are a few clocks I made out of whiskey barrel heads. About 21" round and weighing in around 15lbs. Heavy but nice. I had to watermark my pics because another project was apparently shared all around the world. :)

  6. Wine Barrel Old Glory with mounted F/A-18 Hornet

I love making flags from old wine or whiskey barrels but I needed something to amp this one up a little. I added a Sapele F/A-18 Hornet and seems to be a nice finishing touch. Fly Navy.
  7. Big Barrel

My friend Jim wanted me to build him a giant barrel to be used as an eye catching sign for his partner "Chrissy's" antique store to be opened soon in Schapville Illinois. Lettering will be added to both ends to say the business name and the barrel will then be placed next to the road to be seen...
  8. Happy New Year All!

Happy New Years my fellow woodworkers. Its been a while since I've been able to post projects! I wanted to update you all on some of my fun new projects over the past year. What do you all think???? Looking forward to hearing your feedback and if you have some new ideas….I'm always looking...
  9. Table top for Jack Daniels Barrel

We were asked to build a table/bar top for a Jack Daniels whiskey Barrel. The customer wanted something that had a complex curve, and looks a lot like a poker table top or a bean. We haven't done many round projects prior to this so it took a lot of planning and drawing. We ended up doing...
  10. Whiskey Barrel Adirondack Chair

This one took me awhile to complete, but here is my version of this chair. All of the staves are Qtr. Sawn White Oak and had to be pre drilled for every screw, and I lost several bits in the chair. This chair now sits in a furniture store as some of my other furniture hoping to be sold. All...
  11. New York Pembroke Table

This is a New York Pembroke table, based on one made by Rob Millard (who, BTW, offers a very good DVD on making this table). Mine differs a bit from his, largely because it's a couple inches smaller and lower, but it's provenance is certainly visible. (Apologies for the quality of these...
  12. Night Stands

My father in law liked the night stands I made earlier, and requested I make a couple for him. He had a few different requirements that he wanted (size, number of drawers, etc.). So, I drew it up in Sketchup and then made sure he liked them. These ended up being 24" high, 18" deep, and then...
  13. Whiskey barrel table

My whiskey barrel table is finally complete. The barrel was bought from a local beer brewery that previously bought it from a bourbon distillery. So now it's re-purposed for other things. :) The top ledge and top are all white oak and stained with dark walnut. I don't have a clear finish on...
  14. "Whiskey" Barrel Bar Table

This bar table is a wine barrel with a table surrounding it…set on brackets screwed into the barrel. The barrel has been fully dismantled and cleaned and reassembled. I built a Lazy Larry in the same timber as the table and used a milescraft router template to make the small flower type in the...
  15. Whiskey Barrel Flag

After finishing up my barrel table I had some staves left so I decided to make a flag. The stars section is made from some old white oak flooring I had and then I traced out the stars and went to work with a chisel. The stars didn't come out great but I guess it's a learning process. :)...
  16. Bourbon Barrel Liquor Cabinet

Back in November I acquired an A. Smith Bowman bourbon barrel and I converted it into a liquor cabinet to hold my bourbon. I mounted Blanton's toppers on both top and bottom shelves b/c I installed a lazy Susan that allows the shelves to rotate together.
  17. Whiskey Barrel Table - Second half

Here's the other half of my Buffalo Trace whiskey barrel that I used to make another table. This one is without a lid and instead I used a piece of glass to cover the table for a different look. All of the charcoal inside was sanded off but left enough just so you can put things in there...
  18. Woodworking Skill Share
Hello, I'm fairly new to woodworking, started a few months ago I got my shop on November 1st. The one part I hate about it is glue ups, things slide around, glue gets everywhere, (I work with a lot of pallet wood) a lot of the boards are warped and just don't want to be glued up. Any tips will...
  19. Finishing
Just wanted to make a quick post to pass along my experience and tips spraying General Finishes milk paint with my HVLP. I just finished building a crib for my first child. The wife wanted it painted so I used 6/4 poplar and so far it looks great. I'll post project once I'm done. I used my...
