  1. Endgrain Floor in Bathroom

NOTE TO THOSE WHO WANT TO DO THIS… Please don't use regular grout like me. The wood shrinks slightly and is allowed to move because of the urethane adhesive remaining pliable. There's tiny little cracks where the wood has separated on the outer tiles in the room. It's not going to weather well...
  2. Toe Kicker Coffin (Halloween Decoration?)

Was setting up Halloween decorations today and realized I never posted any pictures of Coffin project made 3-4 years ago. Sorry for delay? Better late than never….. Shell was made from BB plywood with glued and screw reinforced pine corner braces, and door was made from a couple of old barn...
  3. Clawfoot bowl

This is a Pecan turned/carved hollow form. Pecan has two layers to it's bark, the crusty chunky layer that you can flake off, and a much harder, darker and more solid layer, which is what I smoothed out on the natural edge rim. It has 5 claws altogether. It's about 5.5" tall, and 8.5" diameter.
  4. American Elm Carved/Turned Hollow Form

This was someone's firewood at one point. It's the only elm I've ever turned, besides a smaller one that I got the same day, which became my first turned/carved project. Alas, I lost the pics of it. I just completed this piece on Monday or so this week. It is 13.5" tall and a little over 8"...
  5. Latest two pens

Hey mates! Just a quick "i'm alive" kinda post. I'm ultra busy these days at the university, so very little spare time to post anything, least to build anything. I'm still using the prototype QuickS'Lathe™ as is (no time to finish the plans for the final version yet), though I added a dedicated...

  9. Vampire Stake Attempt and Rosewood Hairstick

After watching the great video from the woodwhisper http://lumberjocks.com/thewoodwhisperer/blog/17742 I had to try it out with some of my colored laminated wood. 16 inches long, shaft and handle around 1 1/2 inches thick. The video was great, funny and even if you didn't lathe you would enjoy...
  10. soda machine

i made this in 2007 in high school woodshop. like my other projects it is solid pine. it holds 44 cans of soda. it works by having half cylinders when rotated will that catch the rest of the cans and hold the rest from falling. the handles are walnut and are directly attached to the...

  12. Coffin Bookcase

This is easily the weirdest project I've ever done. Back in June, my sister (who likes things that are a little out of the ordinary) emailed me and said I would love to have a coffin bookcase. At first I thought she was kidding but a quick call confirmed that she was indeed serious. I had been...
  13. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
When my Dad passed away many years ago there wasn't many of his tools left about. His illness motivated him to sell most things and keep oddly others. He was a carpenter like his Dad and his Dad's that were Dad all his life, so no wonder what I do for a living. Of the things left he chose not...
