  1. My first wine counter top wine rack

This was a challenge to myself. My little sister, who is quite a unique individual, just got her first house in Atlanta. I looked at many DIY racks on YouTube and liked many of them, but something just wasn't quite right to capture her personality. So, I took some of what I watched and my own...
  2. Maple Plywood Bowl #49

I'm back in the shop after getting a new left knee. I needed to get this bowl done today to be able to give it to my doctor tomorrow at my follow up visit after surgery a couple weeks ago. I made it for him as a thank you for the great job he did. I hope he doesn't care that I was up on my feet...
  3. Calling all Ducks!!

This actually went together much easier and faster than I expected. Either I was lucky and got it right or everything I read on making duck calls led me in the right direction. A couple pieces ended up in the burn bin but that's normal for me until I get a method worked out. It was a nice way...

  6. Off Topic Coffee Lounge
Last weekend my wife and I did a tour of the Virginia Artisan Studio Tour. http://www.artisanstudiotour.com Once a year the artisans in the Charlottesville VA area open the doors to the studios and invite the public in. On this year's tour there were a number of woodworkers. It was a fun...
  7. Woodworking Skill Share
I had posted the information on a private joinery tour at the Gamble House in Pasedena some time ago, and we still have two spots left on our private tour. This is a great opportunity to get "behind the velvet ropes" and see the skill and materials used over 100 years ago in this classic style...

  9. Focus on the Workspace
Hey folks, just thought I'd post up a video I made touring my woodworking space. It's definitely a work in progress! Woodworking is probably my number 2 hobby to metalworking, though I flip flop back and forth between them pretty regularly - as such my woodshop hasn't got the same level of...

Grandpa's RAS gets a new top Instead of adding a new project for the things I do around the shop, I thought I would start a blog about the upgrades as I make them. Over the past two years I have done a lot to convert the unfinished part of my basement into a woodworking shop. If you want to...
