  2. Abstract?

For now I am calling it an abstract design. What it really is, a mistake. I purchased the CB software and decided to give it try, by copying the tutorial design to see how well the software worked. The software work's, I just have to learn to read the instructions and it would have come out...

  5. Design by Music

I was asked by a woman to design a Cheese/Breadboard to the music of the band "Train" and this is what I came up with. Their music is honest, deep and some references to space, so the Black Walnut reminds me of the solar system and the different colors of the type of music in their songs. It is...
  6. Stand / Table

This the "Plant Stand" from "Making Comtemporary Wooden Tables" http://www.amazon.com/Making-Contemporary-Wooden-Tables-Craftsmen/dp/1579901670 The plan in the book seemed a little small so I scaled it up slightly (about 10%) Padauk with Shedua legs, lacquer finish from spray can.
  7. "Conjoined"

"Conjoined" started life as a promise I made to my budding artist niece. I had gotten her a set of pencils for drawing and I promised here I would make her a box to hold them. Now I know it is not the classic design for a pencil box, like Rogers beautiful box, but it is my take on the subject...
  8. Yet more exotics finished

I had a great time making these pieces. I put a slight curve on the Aum three prong so it lays closer to your head and is more comfortable. I am really having a blast working with all these different species of woods. I'm learning a lot with each piece I attempt.
  9. Bookmark

This is my latest bookmark. These are much like cutting boards, you make one and suddenly you have an idea of how you can use your odds and bobs that are lying around the shop, to make another, then another, then… They're easy to make, don't use a lot of lumber and people fall all over...

  12. Minimalist mixed end grain chess board

  13. Tulip Wand

Picked up this project from a long time fan of my work. He wanted to surprise his sister (a Harry Potter fan) with a wand for Christmas. After a great description of her and her likes/dislikes I fell in love with making her a custom wand.. and by sheer luck chose her favorite flower… a tulip...

It has been a while since I last posted on Lumberjocks. 2012 ended with a health scare and some life changes. Things are fine now and I am looking forward to starting over in 2013. I do want to thank fellow Lumberjock Grizzman for checking in on me and giving me a little nudge to get back on...
