  1. Shut the Box

Made eight of these game boxes for Christmas; seven for children, and one for the friend who donated the broken down oak table which was the source of wood - that one has the original finish on top with the coffee cup burn mark. The other boxes had different woods on the top. I completed each...
  2. L-Square Stop & Depth Gauge

L-square Stop - Depth Gauge - Table Saw Setup Tool I designed and built my L-square edge stop around 1984, when I became frustrated with using stops for setting up stair steps for the process. I wanted one which was quick to install and easy to use (e.g., moved smoothly along the edge). The...
  3. Kreg Jig Portable Workstation

The Kreg Jig is mounted to a small board which nests in the workstation. This workstation gives support to your wood as you work. It contains five storage compartments behind three sliding doors. These compartment store screws, bits, drills, clamps, and the jig itself. It can also house the Kreg...
  4. Butternut Bench

I saw this slice of Butternut at a wood carvers show and it sort of talked to me. So I bought it and by the end of the weekend I had made this bench along with trying a few new things like through tenons with a chisel and trying to figure out how to finish something with a live edge. I wound...

  6. First Bowl attempt,

First attempt at turning a bowl a couple of years ago. Had enough cypress left over after purchasing rough cut to make spindles for the front porch. Decided to see if I could play around with a footed bowl design. Finished only with tung oil.

  8. My House

Here is my house. Minus the foundation, plumbing/heating, insulation and drywall. I built it myself with some help from a few people on framing and electrical. 16 hour days suck but I'm proud of the finished product. That's a 14/12 pitch, When it needs re-roofed, I'm hiring it out.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how accurate you need to be when setting up a table saw using a dial gauge? my miter slot to fence is .003 difference with the widest part to the rear of the saw, ive been told that this helps prevent burning, the miter slot to the blade difference is .004...
  12. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
I was wondering if anyone knows a trick for getting the drive belts onto a jointer? The ones that came with my jointer seem a bit too tight for it. The instruction manual recommends loosening the mount screws for the motor, but this doesn't give enough play to fix the problem. Then, when I...
  13. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
So, last week I bought a slightly used Ridgid TS3650. I got a pretty good deal on it and even got some extra parts with it. Now this is the first table saw I've ever owned, so I am looking for some tips on setting it up and maintaining and caring for it. So anything that will help make sure I...
  14. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
I bought the basic kit and now need the flat round tip so that I can set up my jointer. I found this set of tips online and will come to me for basically $10 including shipping. Has anyone used a set like this with the A-line it? Can I use the tip that is marked with the yellow square for what...
  15. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
Got a Grizzly bandsaw a few months back. I am starting a project where i need to do some resaw work. Today, I tried to resaw and had significant drift. So I used the Snodgrass video on youtube to set my saw up again. Here is the trouble. When I have the guidepost high and set up the saw...
  16. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
I recently purchased a 6" Jet open stand jointer model JJ-6OS. I tested the squareness of the fence to the table and it's slightly off. When I loosen the lock-down lever (?) I can manually square the fence but as soon as I retighten the lock-down lever that keeps the fence from moving, it pulls...
  17. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
Anyone have one of these and set it up? I'm having difficulties with the riving knife alignment. It came about 1/4 inch (maybe 3/8) out of alignment - to the left of the blade. Of the four set screws the two bottom ones are tough to access and one of them is nearly impossible. It almost seems...

I traded for this one several years ago and would like to get a couple more. Does anyone know who makes this brand and model and who sells them. thank you in advance. Rand
  19. Woodworking Skill Share
As a bonifide engineering geek, I'm always itching to measure something and over the years I have acquired some decent tools to do so. I understand that much of this is overkill for most woodworking and I fully subscribe to the "don't measure with a micrometer what you cut with a chainsaw"...
