  1. Lathe SteadyRest

My neighbor asked me to turn a cane for him, and I said sure, no prob…...I've never done anything this long. It's like a gigantic pen.. Anyway, he brought me a 3×3" piece o Poplar. I split it in half, put a 3/8 piece o Walnut in the middle, and while it was gluing, I thought, hummmmm, I'm gonna...
  2. Saw blade storage

After completing the Miter Saw Station, I added the center drawers for saw blade storage. All shelves ride inside dados and the bottoms are just MDF. The blades are held in place with dowels and I drilled holes at the edge of the blade location to be able to remove the sharp blades easily. The...
  3. Saw blade cabinet

Hi all, here I have 3/4" Russian Birch from China carcass that is about 14" square and 1/4" shelves with 1/2"x 3/4" high pine for a face. 4. A Drop Leaf "Breakfast Table"

I really enjoy the drop leaf table. This type and size of table has many names such as the Breakfast Table, Pembroke, Drop Leaf, Flap, etc. This particular version is very useful in a breakfast nook, a studio apartment or as a living room side table. It is small enough to move around and you...
  5. Walking Eye

"Walking Eye" is another in my eye based sculptural series. The single iris is mounted in a leg support of wenge. The rings on top are represntive of eye lashes. Again all parts are turned. The eye is created from maple and is again textured to represent the iris with rays as light reflection.
  6. Inlaying Dogbones

I do not like sharp lines when inlaying so I usually go with my Dogbones. Here is a 9 ft marble table I did with them also added a Mahogany strip around the inside .

  8. SAW BLADE STORAGE CABINET •

May 18, 2015 In an effort to consolidate where my saw blades are in my shop I decided to make a saw storage cabinet for 8, 10 and 12 inch saw blades as well as my dado blade sets. Scroll down to see how this was made. CARCASS To begin I started with the carcass of the cabinet. The sides...
  9. deepsea fishing boat

I was inspired to do this after my vacation to Ocean City MD. I wanted to capture some of the great memories of the beautiful boats up there. One in particular similiar to this one I captured on video, in the early morning riding the waves out of the sound with the sun sparkling on the water...
  10. Negotiations with the savage - Gifts from afar!!

The Vintage architect has struck again! Today, when my wife returned from town, she had this package in her pretty paw. All the way from Denmark, via savages, elephants, lions, corrupt politicians, striking government workers and all sorts of African dangers! I don't know what to say, such a...
  11. Workshop Sawblade Bookends

I built this set of Workshop Bookends from scrap 3/4" plywood and an old saw blade. The boards are 6" x 7.25" and I rounded off two corners of each board. It is assembled with glue and screws, and the saw blade is set in a groove with epoxy. I attached non-skid shelf liner to the bottom with...
  12. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
Hello, I've read the postings for a few years now but it was only earlier this year that I became a member and since then I have learned so much from all of you… Thank you! Just a bit about myself… it was back in the 70's (sixth grade) when I pushed my first piece of wood passed a table saw...

The Incra I_Box User's Manual suggests "You can cut delicate 1/8" box joints using standard 1/8" kerf table saw blades, but you'll want to choose a blade that features a flat ground raker tooth or a special box joint grind like those from Forrest and Ridge Carbide." These blades are pretty...

I have 3 Forrest Woodworker II blades that I rotate in/out after cleaning the teeth. Well, all 3 need sharpening. Forrest recommends sending them back to their factory for sharpening. Does anyone have an experience with this? Was it worth it, or should I just go to a sharpening service near...
  15. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
All, I just rewired my 1993 Delta 33-890 RAS. It runs like a top. At two horsepower, it should be able to cut through most anything I would want to cut. Currently there is a 12" 80 tooth blade on and I wanted to upgrade. I know I need a negative hook angle, but I have a few questions: What...
  16. Designing Woodworking Projects
Greetings, I am looking for ideas to store my 10" saw blades. Vertical, horizontal, or some angle? Does the blade manufactures have recommends? A drawer, or shelves? I guess it has to do with the direction they are placed.
  17. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
I'm posting this question to all who read this forum because I've never needed a table saw or miter saw blade sharpened until now. I've only been woodworking with passion for about a year and a half now and I have a few blades that need a little tuneup. I've got the equipment to sharpen the...

Hey folks, I find myself in need of many (80+) 2.5 inch lengths of PVC pipe for an on-site chainsaw mill. The PVC will be the feet / risers to elevate the saw as I slab the logs. I chose 3 inch PVC for weight and strength as I will be carrying everything into the woods. Did this a couple times...

I will be buying a 12" SCMS soon and want to equip it with a good thin kerf blade. I have been happy with my Freud Industrial 10" table saw blade so had intended to get a Freud Industrial 96T 12" thin kerf "Miter & Cut Off" LU74R012 for the SCMS. Cost at Woodcraft Supply $107. Woodcraft also...

I haven't seen a centralized thread on table saw blades so I thought I'd start one off. Hopefully, this can be a good source of information for saw blades in general. Here are some questions for everyone: Do you own a table saw, contractor saw? If so, what size is the blade? How many blades...
