well this has been a work Ive been waiting to do for some time, and i finally got to a point where i was caught up and i said to myself, were doing it…so off i went, and i cant tell you how much sanding i had to do, lots and lots and lots, but i got it to where i was very happy, final sanding...
sequence pieces of flitch sawn cherry . resawn maple panels. finish is wiping varnish. second piece is opposite orientation material from same tree. resawn and bookmatched spalted maple panel on single door.
walnut slab coffee table on single upright. this piece will debut at the PA guild of craftsmen show Nov 12, 13 in Lancaster, PA http://www.pacrafts.org/fine-craft-fairs/november/ . if it comes back home I will likely place it in a gallery .
The topic of walnut and danish oil and such has been touched on a bunch in these forums, so I apologize ahead of time for any repetition. However, I was unable to find an answer to my specific questions, so here they are:
1) Will one coat of Danish Oil on Walnut sanded to 220-girt penetrate...
