  2. Round Ring Extension Dining Table

Completed November 1993. This is an old Thos. Moser design called the round ring extension table. He no longer shows it on his web site. The most distinctive feature is the laminated apron rail that follows the radius of the top. I experimented with various finishes back in the day. The...
  3. Roubo Workbench (Hand tools Only)

In my attempt to move over to a hand tool lifestyle, I decided to upgrade my workbench to a Roubo, since they are all the rage. This is Roy Underhill's version. I don't have his book, so I had to redesign it to fit what I remember it as, keeping his basic vision as a base to work off of. I biult...
  4. Endgrain desk clocks (Oak & Purpleheart)

Nothing particularly unique about these, but I'm happy with how they turned out. Outsides are oak, insides are purpleheart. Sanded to 220 and covered with 3 coats of wipe on poly.

I made this for my oldest "frontier" daughter that started making her own tortillas. It is an 8" model of hard maple and mahogany laminated to get the thickness needed. (running low on stock) Top and bottom plates are each 5/4. I trapped a 3/8" steel pin in the top of the fulcrum for handle...

  7. Lid for Old Glass Jar - Brazilian Cherry & Alaskan Yellow Cedar

This is a lid that I turned for an old glass jar. The lid was first laminated out of Brazilian Cherry and Alaskan Yellow Cedar. Then it was turned, and the metal lid was glued inside (the wood top is basically just a cover for the tin lid). Very quick & easy project, that turned out pretty neat!
  8. Tiger Maple and Cherry gunstock for a Savage 25-06 varmint rifle.

This varmint stock fits a Savage 25-06 varmint rifle. It's made from tiger maple and wild cherry. It's been sanded to 180 grit at this point and there is no oil or finish applied. It's tough to get good photos of unfinished maple before dye or oil has been applied. After finishing this stock...
  9. Benchcrafted Envy Moxon for Cheapskates

I have a cheapskate's confession to make. I like nice stuff and the BenchCrafted hardware epitomizes nice stuff. So I took a hard look at their Moxon hardware. Way out of my budget, but awesome and fast acting. I would gladly own it if I could. My hand joinery is where I need work and practice...
  10. First Bandsaw Box

This was my first bandsaw box on my new Rikon 14" Bandsaw. I used inexpensive poplar which I laminated to get a 6" by 12" solid piece of wood. The next attempt will be with mahogany and cherry.

Hello everyone ! With the help of hand tools, I made a multipurpose wooden box, using four leftover and recycled woods. Two types of pine, cedar and walnut. For finishing I only used wax. All the true details in this project are in the video, the photographs here are just a distant sample of...
  14. My Glued-up, Laminated, Sculpted, OSB Footstool. A Companion Piece to the Rocker.

I made this footstool as a companion piece to the rocker. I used the same construction process as the chair. I borrowed some of the design elements in the rocker and modified them for use in the footstool. Here is a photo of the stool glued up but not sculpted. Thanks for looking.
  15. Simple Bud Vase

Here's a simple bud vase that I made a while ago. Walnut block with contrasting veneers laminated in place. The glass container is a test tube, and the hole is a snug fit to hold the test tube, but it is easily removed for cleaning. Finish is beeswax.
  16. English Walnut and Tiger Maple laminated target rifle gunstock

I just finished this target rifle stock. It's made from English walnut and tiger maple. The design is modeled on the Remington 40X target stock and it's inletted for a short action Savage. 17. My new workbench and reason for reworking my entire shop...

This is my newest workbench,. I have an entire series of blog entries detailing the build and the reasons behind the build and the design. Since I have explained it all elsewhere, I will just hit the high points. The bench is 62" long, 25" wide and 36" tall. It is constructed primarily from...
  18. Corner Shelf for my Boys

This is a corner shelf I made for my two older boys who share a room. They currently have a Wal-Mart shelf in there and it is leaning severely, shelves are bending, and the back is falling off. I made this one from scraps and mess-ups from another corner shelf project for my parents. I...
  19. Blanton's Stopper Display

In the quest to find something to give my Brother in Law for Christmas last year, it dawned on me how much he likes Blanton's Bourbon. If you haven't had it, it is quite good. As an added bonus with Blanton's, they have 8 different stoppers depicting a race horse and jockey. The top beam is a...
  20. Two-tone Axe Handle

This project changed direction half-way through. I wanted a wooden mallet, so I selected a segment of an old branch that seemed suitable. On a whim, I decided to laminate the handle from cherry and walnut. I glued a couple door shims to the laminated blank and resawed it, making the walnut...
