  1. Custom counter height (ish) table.

I was asked to build this custom table that sits a hair above the counter and movable so that it can be used close to the counter for breakfast and homework, but also turned out for larger gatherings for people to stand around and socialize. This was my fist table build and I learned a pile...
  2. bentwood and burl box

The paying work slowed down so I had some time to spend on some artsy stuff in the shop. Of course it's wrapped with veneer. Wish I could get my hands on some solid plank with such figure. I had a maple burl veneer pack that I was just dying to find a use for so this is what I designed for it...
  3. Need finish idea for toy planes

Can anyone suggest some finishes I can lay down in an afternoon or two for these planes. I made these for presents for a party this Saturday. I don't have a spray system. To get in all the crevices, I was thinking of using the poly that comes in a spray can or maybe wipe on poly, but I've...

  4. 1954 Delta Unisaw

This is my first table saw, and I found this older machine for sale in a local classified ad. I became interested in possibly purchasing an old Unisaw after reading the article in Popular Woodworking magazine about cleaning and and tuning up a 1944 Unisaw. A few weeks later I happened to stumble...
  5. Shop Made Height Gauge

Setting the tool height on my router table was often trial and error. Running the groove, in several steps, often led to impatience and too deep of a cut and a ruined piece. A metal rule was never around to find. Made this height gauge from a pice of plywood and a Digital LCD Car Tyre Tread...
  6. Child's Wall-Mounted Growth Ruler

Wall-mounted height ruler for my girlfriend's niece. The wood is maple, stained yellow and sealed with shellac. The lettering and details are woodburned. The edges were rounded over with router. Thanks for your interest in my projects.
  7. Christmas Present for Mom

My Parents bought a new dining room table that is square in shape and rather large to accommodate when all the family is there. She asked if I could make a Lazy Susan for her, so I decided to make her one for Christmas. It's made of Ipe (top and base), measures 22 1/4" across and has a 12"...
  8. Cabinet for shoes

Haven't posted a project for a long time because I haven't done a project for a long time. Been busy promoting my fiction. If you have a kindle or your significant other or friend has a Kindle. Do go to Amazon.com and look up Randy Attwood and check out my fiction. Highest price is $4.99...
  9. Child's height chart

This project has been in the works for a few months now. I wanted to make a removable wooden height chart that I could take with us if we ever moved. The race was on to finish it before my son was old enough to use it! The chart is made of maple with walnut inlays. The maple board is 6'2"...
  10. Honey Dippers

Just a couple of honey dippers that I made for my wife. She liked the padauk one too much to use it, so I made one out of maple. The soft red maple really had a hard time with the skew, and I had to redo the head of the dipper because of gouges. Thanks for looking!
  11. Height Chart

Bought the animals from Micheal's Craft Store - Used a 1×8 piece of pine… with a Roman Ogee router bit around the out side… hand painted the background…
  12. Organ pipe marble top table

Still have some organ pipe wood left over for an old church organ. This is 1870's English pine and as clear as it gets. Had to laminate the legs which are 1 1/2" square. I tapered two sides of the legs and glue and screwed them to the frame. I used pocket screws to make the frame. The table...
  13. How tall are you?

As with everything I work on, this took longer than I wanted it to, but at least I managed to finish this height chart for my daughter before she is able to stand! I made a custom adjustable jig to cut grooves every 3 inches for the ruler portion and I am quite happy with how that turned out...
  14. Height Gauge

Height Guage I made using some left over uhmw plastic, some plexiglass, and a small stainless steel ruler…. turned out to be pretty darn accurate.
  15. Matching Beds | Daybed and Poster Platform| Custom

These are a couple Kids beds that were built in September 2015. They were custom build for a customer with a certain height in mind. One of the bed was going under a window. I made the two beds in the same style. I desined two chest that were made to fit together. I also made a nightstand...
  16. Shopmade Precise Height Gauge

To get better accuracy when adjusting the height of my tablesaw blade and router bits (hand-held or router table mounted), here is the height gauge I designed and made to be used with my digital caliper. Two 3/4'' MDF scraps, one 1/4'' carriage bolt, appropriate washer and wing nut, and finally...
  17. Reclaimed White Oak Threshing Floor Table with Gas Pipe Base

This is some of my favorite wood for reclaimed table tops. It has so much character. This top sits on a gas-pipe base and is bar height (42"). I put some bowtie (butterfly) inlays in the top for fun. The finish is Briwax per customer request. These particular boards came from a 200+ year old...
  18. Height Tracking Wooden Ruler

The ruler replica starts at 6" from the ground. We'll use it to mark Hudson's height as he grows. I wish I would have used a lighter stain, but I think it still turned out pretty well.
  19. Child's height chart #2

Apparently I never uploaded this project - it was probably completed around September 2015. In the style of my first height board, http://lumberjocks.com/projects/81491 , I completed another chart for my son. Click the link for full measurement and build details, as the process was essentially...
  20. Woodworking Skill Share
Hello Group, A customer (co-worker) asked me to make a dining room table from a 14 foot, 42 inch wide, 1&1/2 inch thick paduak slab. I cut the ends off to reveal an 8 foot long table top and want to use the cutoffs for the leg components, retaining its live edge as well. Since the cutoffs...
