  1. Dovetailed chest with carved medieval designs .

A dovetail chest made with traditional handtools including molding and carving . Aprox 16" high X 24" long X 14" deep . Made out of basswood with mahogany stain . Honestly I think it looks better without the stain , but that's what the customer wanted .
  2. Dragon II

Sold the first one and had to make a second… Used White Mahogany (eucalyptus acmenoides) CNC router took about 90 minutes for both the roughing tool path and the finishing tool path… A little sanding with a sanding mop and then a few coats of danish oil finish. Second pic shows the roughing...
  3. Dragon Wood Carving, Fantasy Art

I carved this dragon in a nice piece of Pine knot. Most of my wood spirit carvings are vertical and I decided to go horizontal with this one. "Puff" was quite a fun dragon to carve. All of the details, from his teeth to his eye, were carved in entirely by hand. I carve using rotary hand tools…...
  4. Dragon Portrait

This is a Halloween pattern that I got from a Site. I decided that you can't really tell the difference between Halloween patterns and Scroll Saw patterns. So I print it out, and put it on my workpiece to give it a shot and see what I came out with. Here is the end result of what I done...
  5. Woodworking Skill Share
Hi everyone, I am about to complete my first side table project. I built it out of Pine, because I plan to use this as a test and then make some nicer ones out of a nicer wood now that I have learned a few things and made a few mistakes. :-) I have finished it so far with primer and one coat of...

Occasionally, there has been discussion of squares being truly square on LJ. Lately, I have checked a few. My own framing square has been checked several times and my combination squares against it. They all show square. Tonight, for curiosity, I checked the framing square using 3,4, 5 right...
  7. Focus on the Workspace
So I got a pile of oak 4×4s basically for free. I'm planning on building a workbench, they're currently acclimatizing to my shop. My issue is that they all have pith(the reason the are free). I don't want to be talked out of using them as I'll never be able to afford a solid hardwood bench...
  8. Designing Woodworking Projects
Greetings and salutations! I'm entering a field that I'm a real novice in: model building. Specifically, a Viking Dragon Ship, one reminiscent of Draken Harald Hårfagre. We've been following Draken Harald Hårfagre's incredible voyage for a while now, as it's our direct heritage and we love to...

I am turning one of my bedrooms into a wood shop. I have lumber shelves and scrap bins on one wall. I want to build an L shaped counter that is 6 feet by 2 feet on one wall and 8 feet by 2 feet on the adjoining wall. I plan to use 4 X 4 posts spaced every 4 feet, with 2X4x as the frame. My...

  12. Wood & Lumber
I bought a trailer a year or so ago and back then I knew the floor was going to need replacing. The deck was plywood and not exterior plywood . Today I bought enough 5/4X6 decking to replace the floor. I bought it from Lowe's and even had to cut the bands on a new bunk. Well to add to the...
