  1. Pedestal Table

Here is my pedestal table finally completed. Believe it or not, I didn't find this project that difficult to do. The table is made out of select pine and stained with Saman eggplant stain and then clear coated with varnish. I attached the legs to the pedestal using dowel joints and I attached...

  5. A Shamrock Box for My Sweetheart!!!

Being that next Monday is St. Patrick's Day, I made this Box for my Little Irish Lassie. It's made out of Silver Maple, a tree we had removed from our backyard, because it was getting to large, & we were afraid it would crush our house someday. As I mentioned once before, this is very...
  6. Hexagonal Picnic Table

I was at the cabin the other day, & thought, maybe I should show this on Lumberjocks. Although it's mostly made of steel, it has a little bit of wood on it. I seen a picture of one like this, so I kind of copied the design from the picture. The one I copied was round, but i'm crazy about...

  10. Completed Deck using SketchUp!

This is my first attempt at using SketchUp. It took a long time to draw this, because I was learning the program while drawing the plan. It was a little nerve racking, but the final outcome was very satisfying. You may look at the progress in My Blog Series...
  11. A Birdhouse renovated by a Squirrel.

This Birdhouse is made from some scraps of cedar plywood. As you can see, it's been hanging there for quite awhile, but I did move it to a different tree last year It was originally supposed to be a Wren house, but the squirrels made the hole larger to suit themselves. They do this with...
  12. Hollow Birch Birdhouses!

I sawed down a dead Birch tree, & discovered it was hollow. These three pieces laid in the wood pile for quite awhile. I just drilled a hole, & used cedar shingles for the tops, & bottoms. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More Birdhouses...

I figured that I might as well show you a few more birdhouses. They look so nice, & inviting hanging in the woods. You'll notice that the Squirrels remodeled the entries on everyone of them. They think they own this territory I guess. At least they haven't evicted us from our cabin yet.<;O)...
  14. A restored Broken Axe (Gibson Guitar)

Someone must have gone crazy, & destroyed this Guitar. My Son acquired this Gibson Guitar, which was a piece of junk, real cheap. He was planning on buying a new neck for it, & refinish the body. The body was a Gibson experiment. it was made from a wood composite, similar to hardboard. The...

  16. THE BENCH I MADE FOR MY OLD CRAFTSMAN LATHE (shield images added)

This is an Old Craftsman Lathe I bought with the set of chisels for $20 quite a few years ago. I originally built this bench so the lathe folded under the table just like a sewing machine. I hardly ever folded it down, but when it was folded, the table would be cluttered when I I wanted to...
  17. Golden Eye Duck in Flight

I was looking through my image files today, & found this one. As you can see this was carved in 1982. This was my first attempt at carving a Duck in flight. If you look at it closely, you'll see an error I made, & didn't discover it until I was halfway done. Rather than tossing it, I finished...
