Hi, I recently aquired a Yates American M80 table saw from a local high school and was wondering if someone could put a value on this. I bought it as part of a lot and I already have a table saw and this one is a bit of a beast. The saw has a 220volt 2HP 3 phase motor, and a 14" blade. Any...

Well, time to start thinking about Holiday presents!!! This year I am going to Christmas with my beautiful fiancee and her family out in Arizona. We are both from big families and her siblings have decided that this year we will all bring only stocking stuffers for each of the siblings (and...

Merry Christmas to all!! It's more the just a day of the year. It should live in all our hearts all year long. My mother told us about some of their neighbor's kids going to school bare foot in the snow in Iowa when she was growing up in the Depression. My paternal Grandfather would put a...

Just picked up my first table saw on black Friday. Got a great deal and am pretty happy. After setting it up, I noticed that when raising the blade height, there is a pretty clunky noise. It feels rough like the gears are not meshing well. Lowering the blade is not as bad. Here is a link...

More than a week ago I e-mailed Toys and Joys to ask what restrictions they placed on completed projects made from their plans. I have yet to receive a reply. Is this normal for them? Can anyone point me to a web page where they specifically say if a project can be sold?

Those of you who have been following my story know that my wife and I moved in with her parents to take care of them through their time of coping with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. My wife and I have always had a very strong Christmas tradition just the two of us, and we put up a tree every year...

I accidentally used linseed oil instead of mineral oil when finishing my end grain cutting board! I've read that linseed isn't exactly food safe… Is this salvageable? My only thought is to sand it down, and refinish it. Let me know what you think! I've attached a a picture below!

I want to add a bandsaw to my "bag of tools" to supplement the Hegner scrollsaw for curve cutting in larger pieces as well as resaw/veneer cutting. I have no experience in projects which would make good use of the bandsaw in resawing/veneer and cutting curves, so I wanted to double check with...

Need to build a stand for the Delta 46-700 (I think is the number) lathe. Basically a 12×36 full size lathe with no stand. Is 12" too narrow, or would one suggest I go 16" deep, or even deeper. My thoughts are, the more space on the worktop, the more crap gets piled there. Especially with...

Good afternoon! I'm pretty new to this forum and woodworking in general, but I'm excited to learn and gain experience. I've recently been recruited by my cousin to help him build a sliding barn door for his home, built out of walnut that his grandpa milled from their property. Something similar...

Good Morning LJ's, Yesterday, I sold my US made 14" Delta bandsaw in excellent condition. My intention is to upgrade to a larger, more powerful unit. It will become the workhorse of my shop, as I am also selling my Delta Contractors saw and will go without a TS. I really need the room and I am...

Hello. I am just posting a couple videos I did of my 2'nd and 3'rd bandsaw boxes I EVER made. The video for the resdheart one is in 3 parts and the Zebrawood box is in a single video. A word of caution/warning…. Get your popcorn ready LOL! These are long tutorial/videos. I kinda realize...

Hello all I have an opportunity to buy a 1970 Unisaw for very cheap. So cheap that I will still be ahead if I need to replace the motor. I am confused on what is needed to run a 3 phase motor. Can I do this out of a normal circuit box or do I need to get a phase converter? I thought all I...

Hey everyone. I am a newbie on here and to all things wood carving. I've had many knives ever since I was in elementary school, because my parents were cool, but I've never done any whittling other than carving points on the ends of twigs. Anyway, two days ago, out of the blue, I decided to...

I'll start Due to DW's allergies we cannot have a real tree in the house. Those "r-tea-fish-al" trees are almost as bad. So we use a mystery branch that we found on the ground while walking in the woods. We have done similar things in the past including multiple branches and dead trees...

All, I must admit two things here… first I'm only about 2yrs experienced and one serious project as woodworker. I am mechanical engineer, so I'm very detail oriented and I understand machinery pretty well. However, my Grizzly 1022 is giving me fits! I have read every artical, blog, website...

I am designing a built in cabinet and the issue of how to keep the entertainment center cool without having to keep the doors open is puzzling me. I see that some have used computer fans and that they can even be set up with a relay or thermostat to turn on and off automatically. I would like...
