  1. Blade Box Redux

Ten years ago, I was fretting over the state of my tablesaw blade storage, er, uh, there was none! I had them in a flat file drawer with sheets of cardboard to separate them. As I would swap one for a sharp one or one of a different use, I'd have to do a blade shuffle and be careful not to...
  2. Magnetic Beer Tote

Not the most original thing in the world but here's my take on a beer tote… Had some lightly figured maple and a bunch of aromatic cedar in the shop, so I figured I'd give one of these a try. Didn't have plans so I marked things out by using beers from the fridge. Sides are maple, bottom and...
  3. Shaker Carrier Workshop

The Mason Dixon Woodworking Club in Delmar DE had a Shaker Workshop this past weekend. We had about a dozen people take the class. We usually hold a class every year. If you go to the web site and click workshops you can see pictures for the same workshop in previous years. The first year we...
  4. Aircraft Carrier Shadow Box

Mahogany Carrier Shadow Box. Made for a First Class Petty Officer retiring after 20 years of service in the Navy. Used clear poly, and some red mahogany finish.
  5. Bocce Ball Carrier

I used a wood wine box to make this bocce ball case. I glued and nailed the top on solid then ran it through my table saw, removing a section of the sides to make it slimmer than the original box. I added hinges, a clasp and a handle. I finished with some outdoor polyurethane and cut some...
  6. Panel Carrier & Dolly

Panel Carrier & Dolly I have to admit that I'm not getting any younger so I need some helpers carrying sheet goods. Out of some old scrap cut offs of whatever I found in front of me I quickly made a Panel Carrier to bring the sheets from the car inside the shop and a Panel Dolly with a clamp at...
  7. Divided Carrier No. 6

I make quite a few of these divided carriers, as they sell very well, but this one came out so nice I thought I would share. I have been doing some wood-burning on some of my work, and am enjoying the process very much. This piece is 12" long by 8" wide by 5" high. It is made of Cherry and...
  8. Quick and dirty sheet good carrier

I have to carry some sheets (mostly OSB) with 250cm x 125cm. For the first sheets, I used the string method, but I didn't like it. So I looked around the web and came up with this sheet good carrier, which makes life much easier. At least for me.
  9. Kefir Water Tote

It's been a while since I have posted anything. I'm glad to be back and have enjoyed looking at everyone's projects and craftsmanship. I make my own Kefir Water to help promote good gut health. I have a friend that wanted to start drinking it. I supply him with Kefir Water and he supplies me...
  10. Bathtub carrier

We have a window sill that we put all our shampoo and stuff on in the bathroom but I'm thinking that it will succumb to rot at some point, I don't like to have all of these bottles that become wet when showering up there so I saw a carrier like this one on the web somewhere and thought it would...
  11. Firewood Box and Wood Carrier

Despite this being my 2nd posted project, this is actually the first project I made last summer. But due to technical difficulties I could not get the photos off my computer when I joined LJ. I like this project. In my naivete I thought it would be a simple project to start my new word...
  12. Grandpa, I need an aircraft carrier

Another project made of scraps of pine and hem/fir. Notice the correction in the drawings and spes; tanks can't fly or swim, so Robby had to go back to the drawing board. Rather than issue a whole new set of drawings, he modified the old one. I have had this happen many times in my career, so...
  13. Ladder and conduit carrier

I built this using 2×10 hem-fir construction lumber. Painted it a bunch of coats to match the truck. Sorry stain fans :-)) It works well for securing ladders and conduit keeping them damaging the window or paint. The small window cut out is so I can see the 5th wheel hitch when hooking up.
  14. 2nd Aircraft Carrier Shadowbox

Built this for a Chief in the Navy. It's 44 inces long and about 23 tall. Has a hinged top and below the flag holder (the big "A") I made a challenge coin holder that holds about 26 standard coins. It was made out of cherry. Took about 30 hours and it was finished with hand-rubbed tung oil.
  15. Beer Tote and Small Box

Made this beer/drink tote for my brother in law for Christmas, and used some of the cutoffs to make a little jewelry box for his wife. I used aspen for the tote and aspen with some leftover sapele for the box, both finished with wipe on poly. I didn't get very good pictures of them before I gave...
  16. My 1st project was more than just a pine box carrier.

This was my first wood working project. The design was my own and it got me wanting to do more. I stained the little side panels with a half and half mixture of white oil base paint & dirty kerosine out of my dads parts washing machine.
  17. Power Box Carrier

Each year at our festival we use this power distribution box for the electrical needs in the pavilion. Typically it lays on the ground in there and when stored in the barn. It is like winding up a 30ft anaconda with the #6-4 wire cable. I made this carrier to make it easier to transport, use and...
  18. Simple Casserole Carrier

This simple casserole carrier is used to take food to our dinner club and it is so handy that the other members wanted one also. My wife uses them as auction items for fund raising for her various civic activities. They cost about $10 to make and a couple of hours time. I make mine on a CNC...
  19. Off Topic Coffee Lounge
I was looking for some flexible hose to hook up the dust port on my Delta chop saw and had hit all the local home improvement and hardware stores without luck. Starting to wonder if I'll ever find some I think of Google so I start looking. Even there it wasn't easy but I finally start to find...
  20. Power Tools, Hardware and Accessories
From a space efficiency perspective, is there a big difference between: 1) a bench top drill press with a dedicated shop cart; and 2) a floor drill press on casters ? Unless I were willing to give up precious bench space to a drill press, it seems like I'd have to build a cart for it, and I'm...
