Moved up here from the south about 8 years ago. My current JOB lays me off every winter. So Instead of sitting around and getting fat, I decided to build a woodshop.
As soon as I see some new woodworking jig, or new design, I have to try it! I've made cornhole boards, to birdhouses, then carving tikis. Now last October 2013, I seen on the internet about a reinvented woodworking technique called INTARSIA. It's come a long way since my first piece, trying to do something more difficult each time. I do not use any stains or paints, using only the natural color and grain of the material.
Like most, I started off y purchasing templates online. They are really simple to follow, yet I felt as if it was paint by numbers. So I went to real photographs. More difficult, but more rewarding.
I'll post some of my projects as I go. Please ear in Mind, I have been doing Intarsia for almost 7 months, but I Have a LONG way to go! Every new piece I attempt is time consuming, tedious, but most of all worth it in the end.
Thanks everyone for stopping by THE kNOThoUSE OF dUbOIS!!!!

This is a wonderful artistic piece of work. I hope we will see lots more from you and I’m glad you are doing something of your own design and wood choices. You really are talented and you will be a great addition to LJ. I hope you enjoy it here.
