Where to get interesting wood in California - 51 replies

I am tired of paying tons of money for hardwoods shipped in from the east coast. I prefer using wood from the same species that I find around me. I have dabbled in cutting my own lumber but find it time consuming and innefficient. Does anyone know some good local wood dealers in California?
