Unfortunately my father, who you know as Stefang, passed away this morning. He had terminal kidney cancer and suffered from a lot of pain towards the end, so it was a release for him. He had his family by his side and his last words were, "I've got to go."
We know how much he appreciated Lumber Jocks and that he considered many of you as his friends. We wanted to let you know of his passing and thank you on his behalf. So this is his last goodbye, or as we say in Norwegian, farvel.
My Sincerest Condolences to you and yours.
He was a fine man and very talented woodworker (though he always liked to belittle his own abilities)
His gentle, good humor and ever-kind words of encouragement will be missed…
I will miss Mike. We had a few good conversations via messages. He was one of the first to reach out to me on Lumberjocks and encourage me to be more involved. I always enjoyed seeing his woodworking and his stories to go with each project.
I'm so sorry for your loss Mike was a very special man and I always felt he was a great friend even though just online, his loving approach to me and the other members here will be missed so very much. My condolences to your whole family he spoke often of the woodworking projects he shared with you. We appreciate you letting us know at what has to be a very difficult time for your family.
Peace and love to your family.
Jim
I am so sorry to hear this sad news about your dad. May he rest in peace.
Your dad has said many nice things about my projects and many other Lj. projects. My heart sinks with sadness I will miss him.
Sad to hear that Mike has past away. I, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. always could asked him for help. I have followed a lot of his blogs here on LJ and will miss his contributions. My condolences to you and your family.
I want to thank you (loving son) for sharing this sad news of Mike's passing. Just yesterday I gave thought to him as I'd not heard for quite some time. We had gotten into a pattern of sending emails to each other throughout these last years … checking up on health issues, families and workshop projects.
Mike was a sweetheart of a guy who loved his family first and foremost, with projects within his workshop a most treasured pastime. I shall miss our shared interests and emails … my LumberJock buddy.
Heartfelt thoughts are with you all as you grieve such loss … Elaine
So sorry to learn of his passing. I haven't been active for several years, bit he always gave me encouragement as a young woodworker and someone who stood in awe of his craftsmanship. RIP stefang
It's a tough time saying goodbye and loosing such a dad & friend as Mike.
To the family remember the fun times, talk lots about life together.
To all the fellow LJ's, we have an endearing legacy of Mike's kindness and helpfulness here on the beaut forum.
Rest In Peace
