Sorry – no pictures on this one. They will show up in the next post. Just a brief introduction to this project.
.
My brother and sister-in-law have a gift exchange we do. It is not tied to any holiday or schedule. When we are ready to exchange – it happens. If not, wait until the next time we get together.
.
One requirement is that the gift is handmade (at least mostly). Another is that it follow a theme. These are drawn from an idea box after the previous gifts are exchanged.
.
For this gift, the theme was “Something with an R” (for our last name).
.
At first, I was going to make a big “R”, but didn’t like how that was working out. I then realized that with their 3 children, I could add everyone’s initials and have 6 letters. AND – a box has 6 sides!
.
Okay – now I had a concept. A box with 6 initials. But how to set up a box so that all 6 sides are visible??
.
Stay tuned
.
PS – this project started 2 years ago and is completed. I wanted to wait until the gift was given to share it here.
.
Another note – I wanted to thank Martyn ( Britboxmaker ). Seeing his work is certainly part of the reason that I chose this concept.

Thanks Lew!
The blog should go a lot faster than the project – I started this in late 2012 and it took just over 2 years to complete!

Added and update at the end – I needed to acknowledge Martyn’s work as inspiration.

Now I am curious as to how you will pull this off Steve. I know it will be something nice.

Many thanks for the mention, Steve.
I’m intrigued as to how this will turn out.
