Texas Star Segmented Bowl #6: adding rings

Proceeded to make 4 more 16 segment rings of maple. Then 3 – 32 segment rings. Ring 6 has 1/8” borders of purple heart, ring 7 is maple and ring 8 is purple heart. Turning inside and outside as rings are added. Ring 2 below. I have found it helpful to glue the end of a short piece of stock to a longer stock piece to help manage a short piece while cutting segments. When rings get to large to flatten on my belt sander, this seems to be a good solution. I use a piece of plywood to hold each ring with double stick tape, then glue to previous rings with tail stock providing pressure and centering. For smaller rings 3 small pieces of tape worked. When diameter was over 12” I needed 4....
