When I saw the Bridge City KM-1 Kerfmaker last week I thought it was an elegant solution to cutting precise dados and grooves! After watching the YouTube video I realized there wasn't much to it. The rosewood unit here is my third version. The rosewood takes on a beautiful luster when polished. I use my machine lathe to cut and knurl the brass bits. All fasteners are machine screws as opposed to wood screws.
This is the only forum where I've found other similar tools.
It works great! There's nothing worse than cutting the groove to wide and this tool saves on the trial and error setup time. May build some more and put them on eBay for fun.
