Dad built a set of pipe racks on our jeep, I spent many a hour picking up and laying out irrigation pipe with our willies!

Great stuff, I love the old Willies.

When I was in the Army, the summer of 86' we had to decommission the jeeps in our unit, (2/504th PIR 82nd Abn. Div.) to make way for the Humvee's coming in fall. We had to strip them of all gear; radios, tools, sand tables etc… then drive them down to the CAV unit where they were all being marshaled. Needless to say, a bunch of 19 and 20 year olds had a few detours on the way to the CAV unit, and the huge Drop Zones at Fort Bragg became our playground for about 3 weeks. We never totaled one, or got seriously injured, (got thrown out once jumping mine) but some other units did on these little sojourns.

Thanks for the great project, and bringing back some fun memories.

I made a mistake on this post it was woodscrap who gave me some advice on making the grill. My apologies to both of you. You are both extremely talented woodworkers. ED

Sweet.
I had a 1954 Willys wagon. Not the military jeep, but a Willys just the same.

You did real well. Lots of little details. Neat.

Thanks for the memories,
Steve
