Project Information

This piece was made of a wooden box recycled. the box brought in a machine from Europe, I decided to remove all nails from it and turned into this piece for my daughters. it took 1 coat of water base fluorescent yellow stain, a couple of Danish oil and beeswax mixture coats, burned with a heat gun between coats. total cost $ 25.00 tracks to drawers and pull knobs included.

I love big, clunky pieces like this (if I don't have to move them). It looks like it will last many years, be loved and hated by many and probably end up auctioning off for thousands of whatever they are using for money in 2130.

Kudos on the recycling too. Thanks for posting.

wow, really well done especially for a shipping crate. I would have just set the crate in the middle of the floor and called it a coffee table. I like the design, and finish you used. Any idea what wood it is… or how it worked-like pine?

Very nice use of scrap! Gotta love those inexpensive pieces, especially when they turn out this good.
