Project Information
Cut some scrap 3/4" ply with a circular saw (obviously, it wasn't a Festool tracksaw) and used surplus castors to build this mobile base a week ago. Brads and screws hold everything in place. A second shelf (with drawers?) may be added to the stand later.
The Delta 6" jointer is secondhand (but with new knives provided); reviews are mixed about its quality. It was rusty but the beds have been refurbished using WD40 and sandpaper, followed by a final coat of Boeshield T-9. From building the base to removing all the rust (all done outdoors in a warm day), it took less than two hours.
I plan to dress rough boards by machine leaving 1/16" in thickness to be removed with a handplane after they are cut to size.
