Project Information

I've had a copy of Tim Detweiler's book Making Working Wooden Locks for a few years now and I finally got around to trying my hand at one. While the plans have very specific measurements for the inner workings I found in reality the project to be forgiving for minor inaccuracies. I have to say the lock does give a nice satisfying clicking sound when you close it.

Nice!!! I would like to build one of those. Are plans available other than the book? Might just buy the book if I can find it.

Sweet! Did you find the plan on the internet? I would love to build a couple of them myself.

Cool! I've seen the book, or a book, before but never a finished project. Great job!
