Project Information

This is a rehab project. We had an oak and iron bench that we bought from Sam's several years ago. I knew nothing about protecting wood (and, frankly didn't care much) so over time, the bench became dilapidated.

I decided to dismantle it, replace the oak with cedar (to match other outdoor accouterments that I had built), refurbish the iron, then salvage as much of the original oak as I could. This is the result!

The first two pictures are of the rebuilt/refurbished bench; the third of the "old" bench and the last two of the "old' oak and the salvaged oak. Obviously, the forth picture was taken during the process.

Bullgoose,

Love the project. I did the same thing over the winter! Gotta love making something new out of something old! Great job and that is one good looking bench!
