Project Information

In this video I will be showing you how to make these lovely, stylish drink mats. These were made of bit of wood lying around the shop. For this project I glued various woods together and then made a border. After that I sanded them all down. I applied a couple of coats then waxed them up. (YOUTUBE LINK)

excellent use of scrap woods - better than tossing them to the land fills, or burning them up… I do the same and have created 5 different batches

Thanks, that's exactly why I made some to use up some scrap wood!

I like them, they look nice, good use of scraps. But, how well do they work? It seems like the moisture from the glass would just run down and off the coaster.

Thank you! They work really well. The lacquered finish allows them to easily be wiped down. However hot drinks tend to sit to them
