Project Information

I finally made something for myself that was not shop related and can be used indoors. A bicycle stand. My garage is a disaster and there is major pitch with the floor so everything wants to roll away. If I lean my bike against something it just wants to fall and I can't have a chip in my carbon baby. So I came up with a with this design. I could have bought a metal one that does the same thing but it wouldn't be cool. This looks good in the house in every room. Yes, my bike does spend a lot of time in the house. Its art.

The stand is made from African Mahogany. I started with two pieces 30" long by 12" wide. Cut the arc's with a router and circle jig. Glued the two halves together. The fishtail is mortised in. I got to do a little hand tool work in. Finish is oil, wipe on poly and wax.

I'm pleased with it, but I might at some point and try the string inlay on the sides.

Thanks for looking.

Slick stand! A lot nicer on the eye than metal shop stands. Stringing would look cool! I work at a Trek dealer, so that makes me like the photo even more… ;^)

Anyone using Bontrager ANT+ dual sensors with the Wahoo, Map My Ride, or Strava apps?

What I like about the Wahoo receiver is that I already had and carry the phone, no reason to buy heads, and it works with most anyone's sensors, including Garmin, Powertap, and Wahoo's own, and will export to nearly any format out there. Garmin cycling stuff often only works with other Garmin stuff.

I ended up putting sensors on all of my bikes, and building an indoor (GPS off on trainer or rollers) and outdoor (GPS on) profile for the road bike, another for my commuter / urban ride, and one each for my mountain bikes, plus a PowerTap chest strap. I find it's a lot of fun to track all the data, even on leisurely rides…

Hello,
I realize this is an old post, but my boss saw your bike stand design and may be interested in purchasing several. Do you make these to sell by chance ?
