Project Information

This was a quick Sunday afternoon project. The picture was taken last week, it seemed a natural for a print. An A4 copy was glued down this morning and I was working after lunch. It took about 2 1/2 hrs. once I got started. All the chisels were used at least once but most of the work was done with 16mm and 12mm #3's & #5's. It's pretty low tech, a drill press, a light duty router and carving tools.

The first print was a heavy coat of black spray paint. I'll get fabric ink Monday. As usual the birds are always there. This is my first woodworking project to come out of my photography.

Very well done…... and it looks like your muse approves.

Look for water based, heat setting inks. They are easy to work with and cleanup is easy.

I love the print with the leaves! I've done a little silkscreen art in the past, but maybe this provides a little bit crisper lines? You can also use silkscreen paint. Idunno if that is the same thing that Paul recommended.

Cheers and thanks for the comments fellas.

Dark, I liked the leaves as well and started out trying to simplify them. I made a mess. I'm looking into an adult ed silkscreen class.
