Project Information

After finishing my last project, these candle holders, I needed my next project. Wood Magazine came to the rescue with this project in their newest issue. It is a cordless, LED desk lamp. The one in the magazine was made from Walnut. I made mine from Cherry, but will likely do another one in Walnut. This was a very fun project and I am please with how it came out.

C&C welcome.

Wow, you didn't waste any time did you? I think the ink on the magazine is still wet. Excellent job on the lamp.

I was like what people really build the projects in the magazines….. ya'll are better woodworkers than I am… I thought the whole art to this was managing all the woodworking magazine subscriptions

I liked this light when I was flipping through my copy and thought it might be a good project to make a bent lamination for the main arm… I might have to try this for Christmas gifts or something

Thanks for the comments all.

@playing- I thought of bent lamination on this too, but with the arm being much wider and the bottom than near the top I am not sure how it would look. You would have to do bent lamination then still have to cut it out, as you wouldn't need the full width toward the top except where the lamp shade attaches.

Would love to see one though, make sure to post pics if you try it.
