Project Information

Made this lathe based on a Jet 10-15…...Used a 2hp motor from a treadmill with a speed control for variable speed capability…....Sides and base are double thickness with Baltic birch on top and heavy pressed board on inside for weight gain…...Currently has two Jacob chucks but working on 4 jaw chuck and face plate…...Was a fun project…...

Nice looking and well named project.

I have a slightly broken treadmill with a speed controller on it. Never thought of stealing the speed controller from it though. Now you've given me an idea…don't think the wife will like it too much though.

That looks like a work of art rather than a working machine, truly amazing! You did a terrific job, the craftsmanship is awesome. Did the idea come from you or did you follow a set of plans? I know you said it was modeled after a Jet 10-15. If you sprayed it white and put a Jet sticker on it no one would know the difference. Every now and then I see this type of work from Lumberjocks, someone with a special skill and talent, a master. I know I'll never get there but it sure is nice to have people like you to aspire too. Thank You
