Project Information

Found a Bird's-Mouth Joinery Bit hiding in a cabinet and thought why not give it a try? Grangirls needed a new pail to gather treasures from the garden so found some cut offs from a a Poplar board and after some trial and error to determine approx dia. (Who reads instructions?) came up with this. Handle is glue lamination and hinge pins turn from same wood on the lathe. Finished with a few coats of Shellac and paste wax.
Next one maybe try and put it on the lathe and make it round?
Last Pic is a little box that used up the leftover cut offs of Poplar, killing time in the shop while the glue set:)

Bench is a slab of Poplar the daughter bought for some Live edge shelfs, may need a few more months drying time:)
