Project Information

Ever since I bought my wireless charger I have noticed one small problem…The actual charging "area" on my phone is small, which means I have to try 3 or 4 times every night to place my phone on the charger just right. So, this is my solution.
It was made from a solid blank. I glued up some Sapele and Ash cut offs that I had in my shop. Then using a drill press with forstner bits, then a router, then chisels I was able to mortise out the two sections. One, being the recess for the wireless charger to sit inside of, and the Second one being the upper tray where my phone will sit on top of the charger. There is also a hole in the back for the USB plug, and a hole in the front allowing a sight line to the indicator light (which tells me if its charging or not)

All in all it was a simple design, and I am mostly happy with the results…Most importantly I ended up learning A LOT about my own chisel work!

Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for the kind words! I think that this will be the first improvement for makes of wireless charging technology, but until then, I like my solution for now…
