Showcase cover image for Wine Rack from Pallet Wood

Project Information

A friend of mine showed me some wine racks that were made from old pallets. This is my interpretation.
I do think it could look very nice if it were made from nice wood, but some people - my wife included - prefer the rustic look, and it was cheaper this way!
"Wine Tasting" was engraved on the front with my CNC router.
My favorite part of this project was the glass-holder, shown in detail in picture 2. Drill first, then crosscut sled for the slots, then roundover bit to ease the edges.
I used a French cleat to hang this on the wall.

Very nice! I love wine furniture. You probably know this, but make sure that the bottles you're storing upright are twist-offs. Corked bottles need to be flat so the cork stays wet.

Thanks guys!
You're absolutely right about the corks, and these are corked bottles - but fortunately none of them stay on the rack long enough for the corks to dry out!
