I've had good luck with a small diameter burr on my Dremel tool for custom ingraving. I print the graphic out on paper, spray adhesive it to the work, then sand it off with 80 grit.

Did you cut the forstner holes first and rip the pieces into two wine bottle holders? If so, did you experience unacceptable blow-out in the holes? I'm building something similiar in red oak and I'm concerned about blow out if I take that approach.

Varcuri, I don't recall how I did the holes in the holders. If I were to do it today I would first clamp my board on a piece of scrap so that it will tend to eliminate blow out. If that did not work, you can set the depth of your drill press (or drill) so that only the point of the forstner bit protrudes from the bottom side, then flip your workpiece over and finish the cut from the opposite side. If you have a hand drill rather than a drill press I would send a very small pilot hole the whole way through the wood so that you KNOW that the holes will line up when you flip the pieces over.
