Project Information

Just finished this as a Valentines Day gift for my lovely bride. After a less than stellar showing on our anniversary, I felt like I should step up my game a bit!

Constructed from mahogany left over from another project. Resawn on the bandsaw and planed to a consistent thickness. Used the finger joint jig to mill the corners, carved the top and finished in shellac. (I was in a hurry, had to be done today, my wife owns a florist and I volunteer to help on Valentines Day!)

I shamelessly stole/used an idea I saw on here and used plane shavings as packing material. Don't remember who posted the wine box with that but a big" thanks for sharing" to them!
Added a bottle of her favorite wine and I'm all set.

Oh but you can! Just cut away the part that doesn't look like grapes! Nobody knows what you are trying to do…..they only see what you did…..act like you meant it!!! This was not what I started out to carve, it evolved along the way within the limits of my skills and commitment. My personal evolution was, that with the practice this little project provided, my skills improved just a bit. Thank you for your kind words!
