Project Information
A few months ago I walked into a woodshop and kindled the flame of an old interest. Something new and exciting that stuck out to me was the wood lathe. The first time I saw the lathe I wanted to get someone to show me how to use it. After a month of catches and slips I bought my own and have been turning little projects for about six months.
These bottle stoppers are some of my early work. I made these for family members for Christmas.
The first one is a representation of a football for my Sister in law who is an Oregon Ducks fanatic.
The second is a wine bottle made of purple heart for my Mother in law.
The last in an ornamental bottle stopper for my Father in law.
I finished each by sanding to 600 grit and then using EEE Ultra Shine wax and Masters Turner's Finish. Hardware is from PSI.
