Project Information

I made this as a gift for someone who makes great homemade wine. He gave my wife 2 bottles a few wks ago. He is going through the process to be able to sell his wine (I can't wait to buy some from him). So to thank him for the 2 bottles I made him this cutting board. Board is made from Cherry, walnut, and tiger maple with 3 holes filled with epoxy and chips of walnut, maple, birch, and cherry. I got that idea from fellow LJ Andy. You can see his board here. Thanks for the idea Andy. Thanks for looking.

Nice gift. Like the three epoxy filled holes. Was the epoxy hard to level and smooth out? Seems like it would be hard on sharp edges.
Thank f showing,

Thanks Jack and Oldtool. What I did was clamp a board with wax paper onto the back of the serving board to fill the holes, then pushed the chips of wood in letting the epoxy fill in around them. For the top I just left it build up. After it set I ran it though light passes in the planer followed by sanding with 150, 100, and 220 grits.
