The tulip and this spoon are gorgeous works. These would sell like hotcakes.

Like them loads. What breed of timber did you use? Post a pic of the tools used if you get a chance pls.

That's pretty cool, I don't think Jed Clampet could've whittled anything nicer that that. How long did it take you?

How on Earth? I'm impressed and confused simultaneously (not terribly unusual for me). They are fantastic!

I have to admit, carving spoons is great fun and really challenges you in many ways.
You did a terriffic job carving these spoons.
Thanks for posting them.

Kudos to you Andrew…. I'm too chicken to try one of these love spoons. I don't know how you keep the bowl so symmetrical. Mine always look like an amoeba. Nice work!

Many thanks for the kind words. In case you wondered… the main shape is fretted out first and then the detail on the handle cut away with a craft knife, leaving just the sanding of the handle. The bowl is last, while clamped in a vise, I carved out the bowl with a spoon bent gouge (I knew there had to be a use for that tool I had never used before!) Then rounded off the back of the spoon bowl with an an abrasive drum sander held in an electric drill clamped in the vise… Took about seven or eight hours in total I guess…
