Project Information

Warning: Anyone trying this for the first time-Make absolutely sure your stock is dimensioned dead on- otherwise you will have gaps galore and you will not be able to clean them up by sanding joining pieces without making the next piece twice as bad. Paduk, Wenge, Bambo.Tightbond III

That is awesome! I have never made a cutting board and this one is special. It has me scratching my head though… trying to figure out how you did it.

I love working with Bambo it cuts like butter, and cleans up so nice, but be careful of the end grain, it likes to chip out, but a good sharp blade handles it wonderfully.

Looks phenominal! How did you attach the bread board ends to the end grain? My guess is biscuits.

Great look bowl Lizardhead - I agree with Larry, the bread board ends really set this one off.

Nice looking board.

I have never tried bamboo. Looks great. I have had problems with paduck dust contaminating the lighter woods next to it. I looks like the bamboo was immune to the dust, or you are really good. Maybe both.

Good job,
Steve

Scott: I believe as long as you use a tight grain against Paduk you will have better luck

Beautiful work. Looks like a whole lot of half lap joints with paduak square inserts, which would cause all dimension to be perfectly square. Ends are biscuited?
Great work.
