Project Information

I have made several of these for gifts. They are watches made out of left over wood scraps. The straps on these two are cut from blocks of walnut. A bit time consuming, but they make great gifts. The design allows them to hang on a wall, or fold up the strap and it functions as a stand for use on a table or desk (poor quality picture, I will try and find a better one). The biggest problem I have is finding quality movements that reliable keep time.

what is the approximate size of the project. I like the idea and it would be cool to have one in my shop office. What size insert did you use?
Thanks

They're small. The movements are only 2.75" across. Of course, you could scale them to any size movement that is available. If you go to a wall clock size though you may want to make the strap out of segments as otherwise it is take to be a big (and expensive) chunk of walnut (or other wood).

I have made several of these too. I buy clocks from Klockit, but there may be better sources out there, do you know of any?
