Project Information

this is a walnut shoe shine box that i was asked to make for a honorable police officer and a fellow jock, who i wont name, unless he chooses to identify himself, the box is made from walnut, sycamore, cherry and poplar, i tried to find some very nice figured walnut for the top, the cherry piece on top holds the can of paste wax and the rest goes inside, its finished off with a coat of buffed paste wax, i hope my costumer will like what i have done, i did an inlay on the sides and i inlaid his initials onto the front, done with sycamore, and changed my former design by adding this handle in the top, thank you for your comments and any ideas of design change…grizzman

Ah! Michael Jordan. But I don't know if the holder is big enough for his shoes.

Great job.

Nice box, like the handle and the sliding lid, that's also a very pretty walnut.

Great design and build Grizz. I'm guessing the part on the top is for holding the polish. This is really a wonderful box and I'm 100% sure your customer will like it (unless he is crazy).

Well done Grizz. This is a beautiful project. You did a great job selecting that piece of figured walnut for the lid. The sycamore and walnut contrast each other very well and adding the inlay stripes is an attractive design element.
