Project Information

I found the base for this table at a flea market the top portion of the base was in bad shape and i had to replace it but for 35 dollars i figured it was a good deal. The table top is black walnut 65" by 38" made from one board straight edged on one side cut in half long ways and edge joined leaving the other natural edge along the outside. Comments and critiques always welcome.

Hey,dude, beautiful table. I just fell into a bunch of black walnut Friday and have been wondering what to do with it. Sure wish some of it was this long. Unfortunately I got it from a tree cutter and they tend to cut it into easily handled pieces for hauling off. Glad I got to the wood before it went to the dump, but most are 2-3 feet long. Yours sure is nice. Like the way you left the edges.

Great looking table top. I like the way you left the natural edges. The grain and finish is fabulous.

Spectacular!! I just posted a blog about what to do with a big slab of wood and then this comes along. Although walnut and pine are two different worlds.

What are your plans for the piece? Are you going to keep it?
