Project Information

Aside from "The Wood Whisperer - End Grain Cutting Board" this table was one of the first projects I ever attempted. I found the plans for it in Wood Magazine, but I'd have to look for the specific issue. I created a few brief blog entries for the build over at my blog at wvwoodshed.blogspot.com if your interested in some of the specifics. The biggest challenges were the tapered legs and the curved center supports. The finish is straight from the can General Finishes "Arm-R-Seal". As with nearly every project there are issues that I am not satisfied with, but most people look at me funny when I point them out. I just hope that there strange looks are a good thing, if they're not please don't ruin my illusion.

I love that thing! Sweet top and I dig the legs peaking above the apron. Nice build

Hey everyone I really appreciate the comments. This was a fun and challenging project I really enjoyed. There are things I think I could and would do differently if I ever redo it. The biggest is rift saw the legs for more consistent grain patterns. Secondly, I would try to match the grain a bit better on the top. Maybe even book match if possible. Less important would be edge treatment on the top, maybe a chamfer to thin the edge. Thanks again for checking it out!

Nice job, very clean lines.
You could take this table design and do those things on your list such as book match, edge treatment and so on.
Even different wood species.
Overall though I like the clean simple design of the table.
