Well I'm amazed to! Nice job. I like the turned shade. How thick is it? It looks transparent.

The shade is 3/32" thick, it takes me about 30 hours from start to finish on the shade.

That's great. Is the lamp and the base the same piece?
Kudo's on the shade!

Scott,
The lamp base and the shade are two seperate pieces, but they are out of the same tree.

Nice work, especially the shade. What finish is on the shade and does heat from the bulb have any effect?

Hi, johnc,
The shade has 10 coats of tung oil, and the heat from a 40 watt bulb has had no effect so far. Thanks for looking

Very impressive! Even if I knew how to turn, I don't know if I would have the patience to work to a 3/32" shade. Wow.

Debbie,
Thanks for looking, The base is one solid piece, with a hole thru the center for the electric wire, and the shade is also one solid piece,
