Showcase cover image for Walnut Earing jewelry box

Project Information

The Missus wanted a jewelry box specifically for earrings. Even made her wooden tweezers to pick out the really small ones. Walnut with about a dozen coats of hand rubbed poly.

Added a few more pictures. Exterior only since it's full…

Jon, welcome to Lumber Jocks. I like what you have done. The walnut looks rich and the organization is a good idea. The tweezers are a nice touch. Looks like you have mastered all the basics of box building and then some.

In the spirit of sharing ideas you might like some of the topics and links listed here at the end of this linked post there is an index of other links. The band clamps topic and miter jig idea may be of interest to you as well.

If it is removable, you might consider rounding the dividers and inside edges with a small round over to take some of the sharp edges away. Don't disassemble the grid, just round it over. That will leave a neat pattern. I use a table-mounted router and bit with a bearing at the top.

Keep boxing and keep posting.

When I first saw this I wondered how one would extract things from those small enclosures. THEN saw the tweezers. HA what a great idea. More pix of the box would have been nice. Really like that walnut. Great project, thanks for posting.
