Walnut Burl Hollow Form Vessel

Beautiful piece! I love claro black walnut. I think you'll find a tung/poly helps bring out more of the grain than a straight poly finish. Minwax is one I like to use as the tung oil really penetrates the wood.

With that small a footprint, I'd be afraid to display it in a home with children, or dogs, or earthquakes, or….

thanks for all the great feedback guys and gals. The foot on this one looks small but it is the right size for this vessel, plus i left a little extra wood on the bottom to help it stand up . thanks for looking and have a great fathers day.

Very cool this would look cool with a small metal stand similiar to what David Marks used on the back of this months Woodturners Magazine.

Another wonderful job Roper. Your eye for form is outstanding. Agree with the others about a tung oil finish. Seems to help POP the grain more then just poly.
