Project Information

I was setting up at an art show a few weeks ago and I wanted to take something special. I had this piece of walnut sitting in my shop for a few years and decided it would look great squared off and filled with epoxy. Once I have the top made I decided I needed a base that really accentuated the way it looked, so I designed this to make the top float. I got a lot of positive comments on it and sold it, despite the massive rain storm, while we were there!
I finished it with a danish oil &
beeswax blend - three coats, each of which sat for an hour before being wiped off, and then cured for a day before the next coat was applied. I did a lot of buffing on it and it came out great!

That's not at all hard to understand - talk about thinking outside the box, it appears you never had a box !

This is a stunning piece of furniture with design techniques that only the imagination can come up with.
GREAT JOB

Possibly others before you have done the epoxy edge. I don't recall ever seeing it though. Usually just the river thing. That is a magnificent way to finish that board. Plus, I like the fact that you used wood for the legs, on a "woodworking" project.

Well done. Thanks for posting.

That's very nice. I've been looking for some console table ideas for the pieces I have.
