VOYAGE TO THE SOULS OF 20 TREES

A coffee table in various woods and glass.
I am greatly inspired by the work of Po Shun Leong, a contemporary Japanese woodworker with an architectural background. Through this table I continue to explore this inspiration. 20 different species of timber were used in building this piece. I find the fact that I can employ mostly "waste" wood very appealing. Here is the list in no particular order: Cape Blackwood, Australian Blackwood, Maple, Tiama, Wenge, White Pear, African Rosewood, Yellowwood, White Oak, African mahogany, Philippine mahogany, Imbuia, Candlewood, Zim Teak, Assegai, Pine, Brown Maple, Stinkwood, Ironwood and Forest Elder!
