Project Information

I started collecting the vintage vinyl that I used to listen to in Viet Nam back in the day. My wife told me I needed to build a storage unit so this is what I came up with. It's a 13" x 13" x 13" cube made from left over exotic wood shipping crates. I applied one coat of walnut oil to help protect it and help make the beauty of the wood stand out. It will hold around 75+ albums. No nails or staples, I used dowels in place of nails and a little tite bond lll. Thru trial & error I learned that I couldn't use nails or screws on the hardwood (cracked easily) and that I also couldn't hand drill the dowel holes. I had to use the drill press to keep the hole straight and true, but now I think I have a handle on the process. It's a pretty simple design and process. I also got to use my new branding iron.
